Webhook Support in Governance Workflows
🎉 What’s new
Enhance your Access Management workflows with webhook support, enabling seamless automation of access provisioning and revocation. Now, once an access request is approved in Atlan, or a revocation request is raised, a webhook event can be triggered to launch external processes, ensuring efficient and automated access management.
- trigger an event post-approval, for granting access, or upon a revocation request, for removing access
- admins can now define actions for revoking access within the Access Management Workflow
✨ Let’s dig deeper
Organizations need a way to automate provisioning and revocation processes once access decisions are made in Atlan. Previously, approvals in Atlan had to be followed by manual actions in external systems to grant or revoke access.
Webhook Support for Automated Provisioning & Revocation
- After an access request is approved in Atlan, a webhook can be triggered to initiate provisioning in external systems.
- When a revocation request is raised in Atlan, a webhook can trigger external actions to revoke access from the source system without requiring further approvals.
Access Management Workflow Enhancements
- The "Data Access Approval Workflow" template will now be renamed Access Management to better reflect its expanded capabilities.
- Admins can now define actions for revoking access within the Access Management Workflow. Once a revocation request is raised in Atlan, an action (Webhook, Jira, or ServiceNow) can be triggered to ensure access is revoked from the source system.
Important Note: The Access Management Workflow only supports revocation actions for access granted in the source system. Permissions granted through Governance Workflows in Atlan will continue to follow their default revocation process.
