Enhancements to tag propagation user experience

🎉 What's new

Announcing some exciting updates to your view and understanding of tag propagation in Atlan!

Dedicated propagation tab for attached tags — check out the new Propagated tab in the tag popover to find out if a tag is being propagated from an upstream asset to the current one. This will help simplify the process of tracking and understanding tag origins and propagation modes.

Tag consolidation — we've consolidated identical tags into one tag, providing a cleaner view and adding context within the tag to indicate its multiple sources.

Comprehensive tag propagation overview — get the full picture of tag propagation for an asset, including the source, mode of propagation, user who attached the tag, and last configured.

Improved sorting and visibility for tags — we've implemented improved sorting of tags while you're attaching them to your assets. Selected tags will now appear at the top of the list by default, helping you focus on and manage priority tags more efficiently.

Enjoy greater transparency and visibility into tag propagation in Atlan! And as always, let us know what you think.

Airflow/OpenLineage — new connectors alert!

🎉 What's new

Connectors? Yes, you read that right! Announcing Atlan’s native integration with multiple Airflow distributions to enhance your data management and workflow capabilities! With this release, you can now connect Atlan to the following Airflow distributions:

  • Amazon Managed Workflow for Apache Airflow (MWAA)
  • Astronomer
  • Google Cloud Composer
  • Open source

This release marks Atlan's first-ever push-based integration leveraging the OpenLineage project. With near-real-time updates to your data estate in Atlan, your metadata will always be up-to-date and reflect the latest changes in the Airflow workflows.

✨ Let's dig deeper

Here's how these connectors can help you:

  • Discover and catalog Airflow assets in Atlan, such as directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) and tasks. This enables you to get a comprehensive overview of your Airflow workflows within Atlan.
  • Capture operational metadata like task run details and statuses in Atlan to help you track and monitor the execution of your Airflow workflows.
  • Track data lineage between Airflow tasks as well as cross-system lineage across your data estate. This allows data engineers to better debug and understand impact and dependencies.
