New resource metrics and filter

πŸŽ‰ What's new

Resources can often serve as critical metadata for your assets in Atlan. We hear you, and now present to you two new enhancements: resource metrics for your assets in the reporting center and a resources filter for asset discovery and reporting!

Resource metrics in the reporting center

The assets dashboard in the reporting center now allows you to track resource metrics for your assets. Track resource coverage for all your assets or use the resources filter to find assets without resources and focus on enriching them.

Resources filter for asset discovery

With the new resources filter, you can easily filter for and discover assets with or without resources. For example, use the new Has resources filter to find verified tables without resources and get cracking on your documentation goals!

New usage and cost dashboard

πŸŽ‰ What's new

The reporting center in Atlan has a new dashboard in store for you β€” usage and cost! This dashboard is designed to help you monitor and manage your assets more effectively.

✨ Let's dig deeper

The usage and cost dashboard is based on usage and popularity metrics β€” currently only available for Snowflake and Google BigQuery assets. You can use the new dashboard to monitor your data usage, identify any unused assets, and reduce dark data β€” helping you better optimize your operations and save costs.

Here are a few examples of how the new usage and cost dashboard can help:

  • Find out how many tables were queried by your dbt service account in the last 30 days to learn more about data usage.
  • Identify assets that have not been updated at source in the last 60 days and orchestrate a cleanup with your team.
  • Discover the most popular assets and track enrichment metrics for them to better understand the costs incurred.

πŸ‘ Give it a shot

Head over to the reporting center and try out the new usage and cost dashboard β€” your one-stop shop for monitoring data usage at source and saving costs.

Enhancements to the Assets Dashboard

The Atlan Reporting Center provides a bird's-eye view of all the metadata updates in Atlan through visualizations to help you track adoption, curation, and metadata management. The Assets dashboard monitors and provides insights into all of the assets within your data estate, from tables to columns to certifications, connections, owners, and more.  One of the things we have heard from our customers is that they want more flexibility in asset filtering, but also the ability to track lineage.  Well, we heard you loud and clear with two new enhancements.

The new multi-select filter support for asset type and database schema gives users the ability to track progress on certain subsets/combinations of assets like views + tables or tables within schemas.

A new metric to track lineage completion on your Atlan assets will give customers the ability to track lineage coverage for all assets even column level.

Enhancements to the Assets Dashboard

Multi-Select Filter Support: We’ve heard from customers that having the ability to track progress on certain subsets/combinations of assets like views+ tables or tables within a couple of schemas is helpful.

Now we have added multi-select support on:

  1. Asset Type filter
  2. Db/Schema Filter

A new metric to track Lineage coverage: Track lineage completion on your Atlan assets in the Assets Dashboard. Using this customers will be able to track lineage coverage for all assets even column level! Use our filters to get more granular!

Introducing the all new Automations dashboard

One of the core principles of the Atlan platform is to automate wherever possible.  With great automation features like Trident suggestions, Google sheets, and Playbooks, documenting and enriching metadata across your data estates becomes more scalable. Now, with a new Automation dashboard, tracking the impact that automations have on your data estate just got that much easier.

The all-new Automations dashboard provides insights into the updates made across your data estate using Atlan’s automation features.

With the Automation dashboard quickly understand:

  • How many trident suggestions were accepted or who were the top trident users over the last 14 days?
  • Which assets were updated using playbooks during that same time period?
  • What type of updates to certifications were made using the Google sheets add-on?

This new dashboard helps teams evangelize Atlan’s contributions to document enrichment and improve the context for data assets across your data estate.
