Export assets to Microsoft Excel
🎉 What's new
For all our Excel enthusiasts, Atlan now supports exporting assets to Microsoft Excel! This enables our passionate community of Atlan users to find the perfect spreadsheet match for their needs — Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel online, take your pick.
✨ Let's dig deeper
Once your Atlan admin has integrated Microsoft Excel, you will be able to export your assets and asset metadata to spreadsheets. Note that you'll require read permission on the assets you want to export.
Here's what you can do:
- Assets tab: Filter and export assets and asset metadata based on your filtering criteria.
- Asset profiles: Export child assets and associated metadata from the parent asset profile.
- Glossaries: Export terms and categories within glossaries, nested terms within categories, and linked assets for terms.
- Reporting center: Export crucial metadata for assets tied to specific reporting metrics.
Just like with exporting assets to Google Sheets, you can easily monitor the live export status directly in the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and stay informed about the number of exported assets. Plus, review your previously exported sheets in the export popup in Atlan for quick reference!
Note that Atlan currently does not support updating asset metadata in the spreadsheet and syncing exported assets back to Atlan.
