Easily view propagated classifications

You may have noticed the same classification showing up multiple times in the asset profile. That's because the same classification may have propagated from multiple upstream assets. We now show those propagated classifications in a new simpler, cleaner way.

New asset types

1. Google Data studio types support

Currently, Atlan doesn’t have a package for importing Google Data Studio assets. But that should not stop your team to catalog your data studio assets. Taking advantage of Atlan’s open API architecture and native UI support for S3 assets, now you can easily catalog your S3 assets in Atlan.

1. You can create these assets via the API - refer to API docs here.
2. After creation, they will be discoverable on the assets page and have their own asset profiles

Connection Management
We realised that finding connections on the Discovery page is not an easy task. So we’ve brought a new place in the Governance Center to manage all your connections in one place.

Give all Admins connection access with one click
Sometimes you might need to give all admins access to a connection.There’s now an option to do that while you’re setting up a workflow or in the connection sidebar -  just select “Include all admins” and it’ll be done!

We have two enhancements for you this week!

Easily remove Assets attached to a custom metadata:
We noticed that it was difficult for you to delete Assets when there was custom metadata attached to it, so we have made it easier for you clear custom metadata.

New Labs:
We have enhanced the Labs Experience for you. Now, you quickly preview and get detailed context about each workspace preference through the toggle button from your Labs.

Now, you can visualise Lineage for S3 Object type assets in Atlan to perform impact analysis of your downstream assets.
Note: This lineage is powered via API and it is for custom S3 assets.

We have simplified our current upstream "Grouped processes" to "Process (n)". Now you can also get all the information about processes through the process sidebar to investigate processes further. 

We noticed that our existing Lineage Icons were not easy to understand and there wasn't a single source of truth to make sense of it.
So, we have added a legend for easier discoverability of different components in the lineage graph which also include the connection icons.

We noticed that it takes too many clicks to add terms and classifications to columns, and there is no single place to easily consume metadata for columns. We wanted to solve this for you. 

Introducing a new Columns tab for table profiles! With this new widget, you can...

2. Document effectively with description suggestions — just document once and replicate descriptions across similar columns

We have made it easier for you to drag and arrange tabs as per your need. With this enhancement, we hope that you will always have context handy when working with multiple queries.

We now show requests for all terms and categories in glossary profile.

We noticed that you wanted to see Database names while looking at Lineage.
So, we’ve brought a new Database preference toggle in Lineage to show you the database name for tables when you'd like. So now, along with existing Schema names, you can also see Database names, customise to your preference using the toggle button :)
