All good things come in threes — announcing three updates to power your asset discovery experience in Atlan: resizable filters panel, retaining search keywords and location in the command menu search option, and wrapped glossary asset names.

Resize the filters panel

You can now resize the filters panel! Hover over the edge of the panel and then click and drag the slider arrow to resize it. Atlan will remember your preferred size for the duration of your session. The panel will be returned to the default size when you log in again.

Retained Cmd/Ctrl + K search

Continue where you left off when searching with Cmd/Ctrl + K! When you reopen the command menu search, Atlan will remember your keyword and scrolled location on the search results. To type a new search keyword, just start typing and it will replace the existing keyword. You can also press the right or left arrow keys to modify the search keywords.

Wrapped glossary asset names

We understand that context is key and more is better, so long glossary and term names are now wrapped up nicely in two lines.

🎉 What's new

Timestamps in Atlan are now more visible, better understandable, and consistent overall! This one's for all humans of data to help you gain more context on data freshness and build trust in your assets.

Here's what we've improved, when viewing the asset sidebar:

Overview tab

• We've grouped together usage data under the Usage field to help you find usage-related information in one place, along with a tooltip to indicate asset usage based on the timestamp.
• dbt run status now includes a timestamp for the last run of the dbt job updating an asset in dbt, along with a tooltip to provide additional information.

Usage tab

• We've added Row update frequency to indicate recent row updates on an asset at source within a specific date range.

Properties tab

• We've cleaned up the display names of the timestamps and added helpful tooltips to provide more context.

🎉 What's new

Introducing revamped regex filters for your Snowflake workflows in Atlan!

Connection admins, use regular expressions to:

• Filter your Snowflake databases and schemas, in addition to tables and views.
• View a summary section to understand the applied filters in action.
• If you add multiple filters, assets will be crawled based on matching all the filtering conditions you have set.

🎉 What's new

In addition to flows and workbooks, Atlan now supports displaying source owner for Tableau projects and data sources! This can help you better manage asset ownership and drive impact analysis with key stakeholders. Note that Tableau has retired metrics methods in API 3.22, hence Atlan no longer supports fetching the source owner attribute for metrics.

🎉 What's new

Atlan now natively supports operational metadata from Apache Spark and generates job lineage through OpenLineage. Get all the operational and lineage context, including column-level lineage for jobs, from Apache Spark right in Atlan!

This release marks Atlan's deeper foray into push-based integrations leveraging the OpenLineage project. With near-real-time updates delivered to your data estate in Atlan, your metadata will reflect the latest changes from the Spark job.

Drumroll please, partial assets have arrived in Atlan! Ever looked at a report or dashboard on the lineage graph and wondered where the data comes from? Atlan now supports partial assets in lineage and pipeline graphs to help you view the assets referenced in your orchestration pipelines that are yet to be cataloged in Atlan.

Partial assets are source or target assets that have not been cataloged in Atlan. With this release, you'll gain insights into the full scope of your data flow, uncovering context that was previously unavailable.

Here's what you need to know about partial assets in Atlan:

• Displayed with a dotted border on the lineage graph.
• Only available in the visual representation of lineage in Atlan — lineage or pipeline view.
• You cannot search for, query, or enrich metadata for partial assets.
• You can view and download impact report for partial assets.
• Column-level lineage for partial assets is supported.

• Airflow/OpenLineage
• Amazon MWAA/OpenLineage
• Astronomer/OpenLineage
• Google Cloud Composer/OpenLineage

In the future, this support will be expanded to data movement tools like Matillion, Fivetran, and Airbyte, as well as BI sources, ensuring that no dataset remains undiscovered in Atlan.
