Save data products as draft

🎉 What's new

You can now save data products as draft in Atlan! Take the time you need to curate your data products before unveiling them to your data teams.

✨ Let's dig deeper

When you create a new product in Atlan, you will now have the option to Save as draft on the very last step of the product creation flow:

  • Save your changes in a draft version and publish it only when you're ready. Atlan recommends that you enrich your draft product with requisite documentation and certification status before publishing it.
  • Only you and any other users you add as owners to the product will be able to search for, view, and edit your draft products, depending on their permissions. You can also archive a draft product, which would delete it entirely.
  • Navigate to My drafts on the products homepage to view all your draft products. Only a draft product's lineage graph shows lineage with the draft product included, to help you envision the future state.
  • A draft product will not show up in search, on the sidebar, or product lineage view for other products.
  • You can also change the status of a published data product to Draft if you think it needs more work.

👏 Give it a shot

Enjoy the time and freedom to curate your products your way with draft mode. And while you try it, let us know what you think!
