Limit asset visibility and discovery

🎉 What's new

Atlan now empowers admin users to control asset visibility based on access control policies. Admin users can limit asset visibility for their member and guest users in Atlan, ensuring a more robust data governance setup.

✨ Let's dig deeper

As an admin user, you can simply turn off the default visibility for all assets, so that your member and guest users can only view assets curated for their personas and purposes in Atlan. Admin users will still have full access to all assets.

But what does this mean for member and guest users? For example, with asset visibility restricted, a guest user in a Data Analyst persona will only be able to:

  • Search, discover, and view details of the assets curated for the Data Analyst persona.
  • View all assets in the lineage graph, with access restricted to asset details in the sidebar.

Turning off the default visibility for all assets currently does not apply to Insights and glossaries.

👏 Give it a shot
