Reorganize data products and subdomains

🎉 What's new

Atlan now empowers you to move your data products and subdomains to new domains! To help you better manage your domains, you can now assign a new home for your data products and subdomains by choosing different domains for them.

✨ Let's dig deeper

Once a data product or subdomain is created, you may want to move it to a new domain (or even subdomain in the case of a data product). This can happen if the team responsible for the data product transitions to a different function or an incorrect domain was selected during creation. Atlan now empowers you to reorganize your data products and subdomains.

Here's how it works, you can either:

  • Drag and drop — simply rearrange your products and subdomains with a smooth and intuitive drag-and-drop action.
  • Use the Move to option —  reorganize your products and subdomains by using the Move to option from the more options menu in the navigation pane.

Note that you must have the permission to update the source and target domain or subdomain, otherwise the action will fail with an error message.

👏 Give it a shot

Enjoy additional flexibility for your data products with the ability to move them around. And as you get started, let us know what you think! Learn more: How to create data domains.
